Edward J. Evans - CEO/President

Ed is a Senior Executive with 25† years experience at CEO-COO level positions in Fortune 500 and small/midsized businesses; Key performance indicators include business turnaround, sustained revenue growth, improved profitability/cash flow, increased customer retention and positive investor returns.  Mr. Evans is an innovative minded individual experienced in “thinking out of the box” and capable of building experienced management teams and in cultivating client relationships.  He is recognized for successfully applying services and software solutions to the Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, Financial Services, and Insurance Industries. Mr. Evans has personally participated in five turnaround situations and his prior affiliations include: TELXON, NEC and CSC.

He is a past board member of Peter Martin Associates, Integral Systems, Napersoft and The Spectrix Corporation. He is a current board member of PEM LLC, The Jubilee Centre and an advisor board member of the Technical College of the Low Country and SQX the Security Quote Exchange. Mr. Evans is a recognized international conference speaker having participated with the Conference Board, Wall Street Weekly, MSNBC and CNBC, The Pan European international Technical Board, Business Week, and the State Department Joint Russian – United States Technology exchange.

He is active in various philanthropic initiatives including bringing food, clean water, electricity, medicine, clothing and education to various third world countries including Zambia, Bolivia, Mexico, Honduras, Cambodia, and Nicaragua. He is an active fund raiser for various charitable causes.

He holds a degree from Waynesburg College.

 


Mark Dickens - Partner of Finance

Mark began his business career in South Africa with the Exxon Group, where he advanced rapidly over a six year period through various marketing and sales positions, culminating as Snr. Economic Analyst. Subsequently, Mark established an executive track record in Finance, General Management, Administration and Operations with a strong international business leaning.

Prior to joining Omega, Mark Dickens held various senior positions with major global operations, including serving as Global Director for the fluid packaging business of W. R Grace growing the business in the US, Europe and Latin America through a combination of organic, JV and acquisition projects. He has also worked extensively in Business Development and various international Financial Management functions, both with W. R. Grace and also Exxon Corp. Since forming his own M&A advisory company in the UK in 1998 (Strategic Mergers Inc.) and merging with Morningstar Management Inc. in 2004, Mark has executed or assisted in over 27 transactions, many of which were buy-side deals on behalf of major corporate clients. In 2007, Mark assisted as a principal in the acquisition of Hargray Communications Group and served through transitioning and restructuring  as the CFO.

Having grown up in East Africa and having worked and lived extensively through Europe, the Far East and the Americas, Mark brings a strong global perspective to business problem solving and operates comfortably in different cultures and Corporate scenarios.

Mr. Dickens majored in Economics and Business at the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa and currently resides with his family in South Carolina.

 

 

Rachel Flood - Partner, Sr. Business Analyst

Rachel Flood is an Executive Analyst with 15+ years of senior level business management and consulting experience.  As a highly sought after subject matter expert in life cycle management Ms. Flood brings to Omega the knowledge base and skills required to successfully drive change within organizations through process re-engineering, business and profitability analysis and asset inventory management. She has extensive leadership experience in working within mission critical lines of business to define and re-engineer processes and departmental functions for turn-around organizations.

Most notable is her ability to cultivate client relationships, building cohesive project teams focused on working toward a common goal whether it be to find efficiencies within organizations or to implement new systems or integrated site designs.

During her tenure Ms. Flood has been privileged to direct the efforts of several large engagements within leading fortune 500 companies, including Emerson, Hyatt, Harley Davidson, T. Rowe Price and C.U.N.A

Ms. Flood, her husband and two sons, reside outside of Chicago.

 

 

James R. King - Partner

Mr. King is a Senior Executive with 25† years experience in Human Relations, Labor Relations, and Employee Relations. He directed the staffing and training of the HR, LR, ER functions in the new BellSouth Company at the time of the AT&T breakup. 

Mr. King has been responsible for developing wage, salary, benefits, employment, EEO, job evaluation and labor relations functions. He has personally negotiated multiple labor contracts with the Communications Workers of America (CWA) Union.

He has expertise in management compensation plans having developed such plans for BellSouth and has experience with wage, salary and benefits budgets.

Mr. King is also experienced in employee communications having directed employee publications, newsletters and bulletin activities.

Mr. King is active in various church and charitable endeavors. He holds BS and MBA degrees from The University of Florida.

 


G. Thomas Reed - Partner of Finance

Tom Reed’s career in the financial services industry dates back to 1972. During that time he held the following positions: President & Chief Operating Officer - EthikaCorporation (NASDAQ) - a software and technology firm.  He also directed the sale of financial services to wealth clients for both First Union and Robinson Humphreys; at CompudataServices, Inc. - a software firm serving the healthcare industry he served as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.  At Northern Central Bank, he directed all commercial services and also was responsible for managing all product development for new financial services.

For the past 10 years Tom has served as President of Morningstar Management and during the period executed or assisted in over 25 Merger or acquisition transactions.  In 2007 he was a principal in the acquisition of Hargray Communications Group serving as the interim CEO and now serves on the Board of Directors.   He was the Founder and Chairman of the Coastal Venture Investment Forum and has served on the Board of Directors of Down South Publishing, Chairman; Huston, Reed & Associates; and Storm Shelter Electronics.  He also serves on the advisory board for the University of South Carolina Business Department. 

Mr. Reed majored in Business Administration at the Pennsylvania College of Technology.

 

 

Steven Kreps – Managing Consultant

Steven is a senior financial executive with extensive experience in leadership positions with large multi-national as well as small and midsize private and public companies in consumer products, manufacturing, health care, insurance, hospitality, education, and non-profit. He is experienced working with all levels of management from boards to operating company personnel.

He has led successful efforts in enterprise risk management, strategic planning, operating company turn arounds, profitability improvements, capital planning, acquisition due diligence/ integration, software implementations, and internal control/ Sarbanes Oxley implementations.

Steven, a licensed CPA, began his career with PwC where he audited a broad range of clients. He next spent 15+ years with consumer products/ food company leader Chiquita Brands International where he served in a number of regional and global audit and finance related leadership roles. From there he spent time with Intercontinental Hotels Group in Singapore, leading their Asia internal audit/ risk function. Finally, he led a new acquisition turnaround for The Apollo Group (University of Phoenix) in Latin America.

Steven was a keynote speaker at an Enterprise Risk Management conference in Singapore. He is active in the Institute of Internal Auditors and industry benchmarking efforts. He graduated with an accounting and business administration degree from Manchester College. He currently lives in the West Chicago suburbs.
